Dear Kate,

When I was a little girl, my Grama Maize introduced me to “Hello Dolly” and had me sing it for her over and over. She also kept me in Beatle Albums and go-go boots (you should see my collection of boots NOW!) Unfortunately I lost my grama when I was only 10, but she has inspired me my whole life and she is probably the main reason I am a singer/actress today.

So, as you can imagine, singing Hello Dolly to the REAL Dolly was a thrill..a delight..a moment of time that I will hold dear to my heart. My performing for your organization was a gift that you gave me of which I will be eternally grateful.

I am returning this check to you so you can put it to more wonderful work for LifeChronicles. I lost my husband to cancer April 18th of this year. Holly and I have been dear friends for many years and I love her as if she was my own. Its no coincidence that her and I were on that stage together. We both felt the presence of my late husband Tom and her mom Sara. So, it is in their memory I would like to donate this back to you and the wonderful work your organization does for people.

So, in loving memory of Thomas “Sweet Tom” T. and Sara S., I wish you much success in the future and know I would welcome lending my talents to you in the future.

All the best,

Katie T.
